Milan Family YMCA History
The Milan Family YMCA was formed as a branch
of the Jackson YMCA. It started as a store
front operation on Telecom Drive. On July
11, 1994, the Milan Family YMCA was granted
its charter from the YMCA of the USA to be
an independent YMCA. Many Milan community
members generously donated the money to
build the current YMCA facility on
Industrial Drive in 1997. In 2005 the
fitness center was expanded to add a cardio
room, and in 2008 the fitness center was
updated.
The Milan Family YMCA has had four
CEO/Executive Directors in its history. It
is governed by a Board of Directors who
volunteer their time to write policies and
procedures.
