Milan Family YMCA History
From its humble beginning as a store front operation on Telecom Drive, the Milan Family YMCA was formed as a branch of the Jackson YMCA. On July 11, 1994, the Milan Family YMCA was granted its charter from the YMCA of the USA to be an independent YMCA.
Many Milan community members generously donated the money to build the current YMCA facility on Industrial Drive in 1997. The Milan Family YMCA has had four CEO/Executive Directors in its history. It is governed by a Board of Directors who volunteer their time to write policies and procedures.
